Totally false. I put in an order for 100K today and the commission was $17.05 They have a .5 percent charge for penny stocks. I never call them but maybe I should and complain.

I have bought almost 4 million shares in various amounts between 250k to 450k at a time and have bought everything online.....My commission fees have ranged from $36-$41......What am I doing wrong? I figured it was because of being a penny stock, but I must be wrong...........Thanks in advance for any input........GLTA............Hose

This is not quite correct. Better check your commission fee closely. For penny stocks, through Scottrade, it's 7.95 plus a percentage of the total sale amount (.001%?) plus another fee when you sell. It's in the fine print if you want to read it on their website. I use Scottrade. Every other firm I looked at has the same sort of structure or trading restrictions to bleed money from you. Scottrade does not charge extra for partial fills IF they are filled in the same day. Partial orders held overnight or modified are charged another commission.
