Typically they aren't, at least with most sites and what I know from Etrade. They are somewhat but at least usually weeks if not a month out of date from my experience.
On the board page when I click on the "6 mo" just to the left of the basic chart and look at the volume bars, they are about the same volume and colors/(Red/Blue) as we are seeing now as it was on earlier spike/not the recent one. Nothing overly alarming with the current volume unless it continues high tomorrow with no upward movement then that would be a sign of dilution.
