fmikehugo, my point being
that there's nothing new in briefing.com, which quotes from the Chronicle article, which quotes from Farmer's analysis of a few weeks ago, which you then cite in your post. The fact that the Chronicle needs copy to fill space doesn't make it news.

There seems to be no news on Apple that would explain the drop in Apple this past two days. To me, that "non-explanation" beats all the pundit pretenders to knowing the reason, including briefing.com, or the Chronicle.
