Biased reporting my friend...the CNN article you pasted was very slanted and was missing the historical component of, "How did we get here?" It was OPEC that flooded the market. My thought was so they could crush domestic US production. It backfired immediately and oil prices dropped like a rock. Meanwhile, domestic production has continued and Venezuela is starving to death. It wasn't Texas that created this problem and it wouldn't hurt OPEC to close their valves for a month or two either. Oh yeah- now that IRAN is not under sanctions, they can export too! I don't think they care much for OPEC either. On a final note, $60,000 an acre for land in Texas- that is stupid too. Mineral owners have superior rights to the surface. They don't have to buy it.
