#51118 RE: Bristol19 #51115

Just because there is a patent floating around for the right kind of light source to do spectral imaging doesn't mean it'll be in 1.0. Right now there is a light source in SPORT that illuminates a surgical space with the right kind of light for a square imaging sensor....that's all the patent tells us.

After listening to last nights presentation again I don't believe McNally is going to make this anymore complicated or make the design anymore complex than it needs to be to get this approved and to market. I think he is thinking lets get version 1.0 to market. He is going to make sure that all the boxes are checked and it is done right on the first go around, which is absolutely critical. He spoke about developing new types of end effectors as the surgeons expand the use of the platform to more complex high risk procedures. Also spoke of adding advanced imaging in the future but I think he will keep the platform basic for version 1.0. He said at ROTH that that the most important thing you can do in this process is to try to break it before it gets to market. Limited launch at high volume facilities with many sub specialties doing low risk procedures at first.
Sounds like he's got a solid plan.
