I'm guessing that this Comair crash might push the Commercials into EVS a little faster. That CRJ-100 jet took off on the wrong runway, which was unlit and there was a light rain...Too bad for those people, a Kollsman EVS would have allowed them to see clearly that they were on the wrong runway.
The AVTX technology is based on technologies already deployed in military service, including drones.
I discussed this aspect with Mr. Ball several months ago and he specifically noted that his company was licensed to bring this military technology to the civilian marketplace.
I also looked into a shuttle/space station application for the technology, but they already are using the military technology.
