Zymergen might be better run, it certainly helps not being in debt and not have shareholders; I don't know about Twist. But Zymergen is playing catch up and is aiming for a different and smaller market than Amyris. And they don't have the technology, or more importantly, the intellectual property, of Amyris.
But I don't invest in any company because of one person. I guess some people do but I've never thought that made any sense, just a difference in opinion I guess.
