#1562 RE: caj025 #1561

Is Argentina posing a threat to Maricunga and all other non....

Caj025, Argentina is just loosening its previously "too tight" stranglehold choking grip on private business and encouraging trade again. Chile will by default in time have to nearly match whatever Argentina does (if they turn out to be the most liberal/accomodating). By 2021 Argentina, Chile and Bolivia will be selling lithium product at par with other (partly in order to keep rural communista/socialist leaning groups and under-educated miners in check plus inside their home borders) much like OPEC used to set the price on oil. But remember the mineral driving the headlines in this region is copper... not lithium. We are a sideline. There is 3-5 times more copper in an electric car than in a gasoline engine car. Plus one year of lithium production in Chile equals only 10 days of copper production in that country, I would think it is about the same ratio in Argentina.

The winners of the brine lithium war/competition are the miners with the highest concentration of lithium per liter in a brine salar... we are number 4 in the top 50 and no one is going to knock us out of the saddle. We are number 4 and that is our per-ordained destiny See page 14 for ranking. I would not get too concerned over Argentina's new "open arms policy" to business. Chile's better infrastructure (roads, nearby seaports and electrical grid) give it a good advantage for now.
