Legitimate equity like KMI is a positive sum game. People and/or institutions make an investment and wealth is created by the company's activities and distributed to the equity holders.
In the OTC it's a negative sum game. An investment is made, and the wealth removed by the issuer of the shares and most just seems to disappear. The only way retail can make money is to take it from other retail. It's straight up gambling. At least when you sit down at a table in Vegas they'll comp you your drinks.
