Weatherford needs transactions to create value, Bernstein analyst says
Weatherford’s (WFT +0.8%) pathway to value will need to be “transactional in nature," as cost cuts and “gradually refocusing during a cyclical recovery” are not sufficient, Bernstein analyst Colin Davies says.
Incoming WFT CEO Mark McCollum needs to identify and "execute a series of step change decisions ideally into a rising commodity environment and a more vibrant deal market, which will become catalysts to further upside, Davies says.
The firm rates WFT at Outperform with a $7 stock price target.
