Everything is moving to app based solutions.
Physical meters are going the way of WM longs......
Apps instead of hotel room cards, apps instead of paper boarding passes, etc.....
So the market in app meters will go to the deep pockets..... that's way the insane valuations for Uber, etc.
It's all about consumer adaptation..... keep them in your ecosystem and you keep the customer.
Amazon and Facebook are excellent examples and so is Apple.
Now in the case with a app,like Uber, the next step will to allow the rider to see ads and specials offered to them in the areas they are being dropped off at. Expand the ecosystem, capture the customer.
And for all the open source stuff coming from google it always was about offering and timing all their services on every device you have.
But without any eyes on your product and mass acceptance you end up with a baseball field in the middle of a cornfield... you built a great field but no one can find you.
So now about the so called 5 million downloads.
The only truth that will be know is f and when they file more q's and k's no one will know.
But if they get up to date and there is no revenue, then that so called five million downloads will be all BS.
My bet is that they have no downloads because the app doesn't exist anymore.
Hey Col, you said last week you were in Indonesia but you never mentioned anything about downloading the app and using it.. I found that rather odd.... and funny.
