I agree with you as well that charts are not fortune tellers but we all play a game of averages and if charts are correct for any individual to the tune of 75% of the time then that person is way ahead of the game...any athlete in any sport would take that average and any fund manager would take it as well...25% should cover losing out on the incidentals that you spoke of...

Charts and the ability to read patterns and candlesticks are the greatest single tool a person has on the road to making practical trades with some reason behind making that trade...imo...It is not the end all but certainly affords a great advantage to those that are willing to study all aspects of what a chart is capable of...


What I believe is the greatest asset of a chart is it shows what can be weeks down the road...I am not a flipper or a momentum buyer of promos...I am a buyer of a strong bottom because I think it will run hard in weeks to come and I can get in at the bottom knowing that the chart will turn in weeks to come...this gives me maximum optimization of my money...so for me the chart read of what is to come is paramount...
