These warm days in the winter really stimulates that itch to get out in the garden and allow God's miracles to happen.
I've got a little funny. I have a neighbor who is disabled. Supposedly???? His eyesight is terrible enough that he can't work. He can still see well enough to drive, sit in his back yard all afternoon smoking cigs, drinking beer, and watching me work in my garden. Even has the nerve to ask me who visits, what I'm planting? and things that are absolutely none of his business. I'm an extremely independent person, and it drives me up a wall.
I want a privacy fence, without offending my neighbor. He isn't a bad guy, just sticks his nose where it doesn't belong. I have a wisteria tree that produced seed pods last fall. If you aren't familiar with Wisteria? It's a voracious growing vine, perfect for a privacy fence with a little encouraging.
I planted the Wisteria seeds in a pot of soil in late fall, early winter. The Wisteria seeds came up, buTT....so did a squash plant. About the only thing I know of that grows faster than a wisteria plant, is squash. I have both growing out of the same pot in my south facing, bedroom window. I think it's spaghetti squash?????? Had a few of those last year, not sure how the seed would have been in the pot? I've been taking a q-tip and swirling it around the blooms. So far, there's one tiny fruit developing. lol
What was I thinking planting a wisteria tree in late fall, and where did that squash seed come from? For kicks and giggles, I'm going to try and keep them both going until it's warm enough to put them outside. That's only a couple more months.
