Donald Trump Blasts 'Low-Life Leakers' in New Twitter Attack
DOW JONES & COMPANY, INC. 8:53 AM ET 2/16/2017
WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump leveled new Twitter attacks on "low-life leakers" in the wake of Mike Flynn's resignation earlier this week as national security adviser amid controversy over the nature of discussions with Russia's ambassador.

"The spotlight has finally been put on the low-life leakers!" Mr. Trump said in a Twitter post early Thursday. " They will be caught!"

Mr. Trump hasn't said how he plans to target people he says are leaking information.

Mr. Flynn was forced to resign by Mr. Trump on Monday after snowballing news reports revealed that he had given false information to Vice President Mike Pence regarding conversations Mr. Flynn had with the Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, in late December, a few weeks before Mr. Trump took office. White House press secretary Sean Spicer has said the president lost trust in Mr. Flynn, but Mr. Trump hasn't criticized Mr. Flynn publicly since he resigned. Rather, Mr. Trump has attacked what he has described as a culture of leaking information by the intelligence community in Washington.

In another Twitter post Thursday, Mr. Trump wrote that "leaking, and even illegal classified leaking, has been a big problem in Washington for years."

Mr. Trump praised leaks during his presidential campaign, however, frequently calling attention to how WikiLeaks was publishing emails that had been stolen from Democrats. He said those emails exposed problems in the Democratic Party.

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that U.S. intelligence officials have withheld sensitive intelligence from Mr. Trump out of concern it could be leaked or compromised, according to current and former officials familiar with the matter.
