It happens everyday, no offense to you personally. If a lawsuit ensues between two of the IP attorney clients, the IP attorney would have to select one to represent. Again, to think an IP attorney doesn't want to specialize in a particular field (like medical robotics is pretty strange in my opinion).
Also, you will notice on Linked In that a lot of people in this space are connected to each other. Why? Because they are all in the same field? Maybe have worked together at former employers? Part of the same professional trade association? Folks here make these connections seem unbelievable or that there is something more to it.
