Dig a little deeper and don't speculate... First off I don't think anyone is trying to "disguise" his name. He goes by his middle name which is fairly common, don't turn it into a conspiracy. Second he didn't almost default immediately. Below shows that they made payments for nearly 4.5 years through January 1st 2016. He had a cattle business in Arizona. Being around cattle the majority of my life, you have good years and bad years. A ranch this large in scale (2 million dollars) it would take 1 bad year to send it belly up.
