Yep, I have a buddy in the logistics field that moves over 1.5 Billion dollars worth of freight each year via rail, sea, air; all out of his two person office in his home. The guy is rather successful and wealthy.
The days of needing to have your inventory on your own warehouse shelves are over. It's more cost effective to contract that out and move your inventory online.
