So basically they applied for the Patent in a way that allows it to be approved in other countries as well!?

I also noticed this in the Patent application. I'm not sure if it's of any significance. I couldn't find any further info on it.

"This application claims priority to United States Application Serial No. 61 /598,261 filed February 13, 2012."
