I actually came across Conformis shortly before Vericel. For knee replacement it sounds like a good concept. My wife had a replacement about 15 years ago and it never was quite right. After about 7 years she had a revision done and the doctor explained that the first replacement was not the right size. Conformis seems to solve that problem.

That said, at the moment my VCEL investment is about 20 times that of CFMS.

That seems for larger knee projects and the recovery time has got to be lengthly and painful.

I would rather have MACI when and if its ever my turn.

what most if not all doctors will not tell you is that any time you get cut open you are at risk of early onset arthritis.
They will tell you of risk of infection, but not of advanced proliferative arthritis which you will likely experience with knee replacement.
Most of us will get arthritis in our later years anyway, but few are aware it may come sooner and be more severe because of knee replacement surgery.
Many knee replacement patients will already have arthritis already, which makes them currently ineligible
for MACI, hence the knee surgery.
I think that knee replacement surgery days may be numbered, either through natural cartilage replacement and regeneration, or the development of synthetic cartilage. How long it will take who knows?
