there are so many things that go into the stock price over the short term that it's nearly impossible to predict with accuracy what will happen.
all that said, imo the large players would rather not see the common shares appreciate until mnuchin's confirmation is resolved, to avoid unnecessary attention by the press. i wouldn't be surprised if they were sitting on the ask in the absence of large buying demand (on any potential good news) that would chew through all of their position.
