Could be but I am sure you don't know either. There are a whole lot of things they could infringe on that are much higher on the totem pole than our silk. Those things don't seem to have been replaced by knock offs.
The iPhone is a good example.

When is the last time you saw one in the USA or any other country?
Knock offs are a reality. They cut into profits of companies in a small way. But what company has been put out of business by them? They knock off the iPhone and mass produce them to the point apple can't make a profit. Apple stops making the non-profitable item. Iphones stop being the hot product. Knock offs stop being produced because nobody advertises them anymore.
If UA uses our silk knocked off from China they are in the wrong and know it. They would stop buying the knock off or face a lawsuit that can ruin a reputation.
The Chinese could knock off the silk and make military gear from it.
We lose nothing since I seriously doubt the Chinese military is going to ever be a client of ours.
The whole idea of knock off silk putting us in any sort of bind is just stupid imo
