and reasons specific to this company, I find it to be a red herring.

The company is insulated in part because it does not depend on "recreational". Its a pharmaceutical company. The DF/HCI and IGXBio contracts are relevant here. If the feds go after the industry, they are likely to go after "recreational". CA has already placed Holder on retainer. If they go after CA, you may see a showdown over states rights in the SC.

Further, Trump has publicly supported medicinal cannabis and has indicated support for states' rights to set their own rules on adult use. Trump told Fox News in February,

"Medical marijuana, medical? I'm in favor of it a hundred percent."

Plus, the Attorney General serves at the pleasure of the president. Trump supports medical cannabis. Sessions is a lap dog. He wont challenge Trump; nothing to gain by doing so.

Additionally, the same Red states who put Trump in the White House passed cannabis legislation. Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Montana, and North Dakota all had marijuana measures on their ballots. In all of these states, there were as many, or more, votes for marijuana than there were for Trump. With the exception of Az, marijuana measures passed in each state, and the Az initiative failed by only 2%.

Oops, almost forgot. There's A LOT of money in legal cannabis. Trump's Science and Technology Advisor is Peter Theil. Two of Theil's picks are being considered to head the FDA.

Could be wrong, but then again "No guts; no blue chips"!
