This is where you are wrong tho, "most companies don't actually do crap like this". I'll argue most do. In fact, any company that uses P-notes, convertibles and the likes is "doing this crap", which means almost all companies on the OTC, and many on the big boards even. You need to drill down into other companies and you will see how commonplace this really is.

That's not to say alternatives to these instruments are any safer for investors. Look at the big boys buried in debt or some mix of all sorts of complex financial instruments ranging from safe to toxic... SUNE, RGSE... VSLR, all of them are not well financially and how are their shareholders doing?

I'm glad SUNW as a company is thriving, and hoping it continues so that the money I have invested in it grows as well. I know there will be micro and macro factors along the way that influence the PPS, I'm not very concerned with these short term pops and drops. I get that this is a micro and it's taking the necessary time to grow while it makes a name for itself in the investment community, while the dilution is baked in and the cost of the acquisitions is wrung out. As you can tell from the chart- that's happened. The PPS has stagnated, while the market cap has declined. Again, at some finite point the company becomes seriously undervalued and the investment cycle begins anew.

The only issue with credibility imo is simply the young age of the company. This will change as Nelson continues to play his hand as strategically well as he has to date.

What I am concerned with as I've repeated before, Top and Bottom line growth and EPS. All of which have shown exemplary strides in the last two years.
