Their offices are only in France and UK, may only work in Europe, and can get pretty expensive.

Traxu's current pricing model works as follows:

Devices are rented on a time period basis with a matrix price ranging from £50-£120 per week - there is a minimum charge of one week even if a device is only being used for one day

For example, someone using a device for a charity cycle ride for one day updating its position every minute would expect to pay £50

On the other hand several devices being used in flying competion for two days with an update every second would expect to pay £120 each. These prices are provided as a guide only

At the time of order a deposit of £270 is taken as security against the device. This is then returned on receipt less any data transmission charges. These amount to an approximate maximum of £4 per day (if the device is used for 8 hours giving a position every second)

The ordering process is on-line with devices arriving pre-paired to the appropriate website and transmitting at the correct time interval when turned on. Devices can also be programmed to transmit in different modes (changing from every second to every 15 seconds for example) and can also change sending interval according to speed of travel

Traxu also has a number of devices that can be programmed remotely in real-time, to reset timing information or provide signals to the device user.

The position of the devices can be picked up wherever there is a phone network. Traxu also has larger more sophisticated devices to provide positioning information where there is no phone network - please contact us for more information(more money)


Conclusion: Not very comparable to the CT, way overpriced (leased at that), and only works where there is a phone network unless you want to be charged even more. I'll take a CT anyday. Furthermore, it doesn't send data to your website, it sends it to their website and you can access it. The less the update interval the more you pay and connection charges increase.
