The EC lawyers want to drag it out. The longer it goes the more they charge hours and make money. It is against their interests to settle quickly, they are charging $500K a month. Why would they give that up, they make no money off any settlement, they are counting on this taking a long time. If they were getting a percentage of the settlement it would be different. This case is a goldmine for them.
