Didn't know about that. With RadioShack I had fondness for the firm as an investor, long ago, and as a customer. My only feeling towards Sears was that it was the place where old poor people shopped, even long ago. Ok to buy a vacuum or wrench there, but little else. Certainly not clothing.

BTW, I'm curious how the surviving several hundred RadioShack units are doing under the new ownership. My guess: not great.

RSH had a niche, I'm not sure Sears does. And retailing just keeps declining.

Lampert will spin off the remaining valuable brands such as Kenmore in the same fashion he did with Lands End. In doing so he will keep the proceeds, repay the LOC and then once any last value is milked, SHLD will go Chapter 11. I'd have to look it up but I believe he kept around $500 million from the LE spin off
