Only 4,600 shares traded today. Simply put, people bid low, and people ask high (as high as they dare). And if people are willing to hit the ask, it goes up.
I don't mean to sound sarcastic, but there's nothing sinister going on here. My TDA account shows that TTCM closed yesterday at .0205. And today, someone bid a low of .0175 and got it, lucky (and smart) dog. But the action shows that there is hardly anyone interested in selling. Hence we still sit at a total of 4,600 shares traded and there's only a little over 4 hours left to market close.
Because of the lack of liquidity today someone felt it was good strategy to just hit the ask of .0239, hence the 30% increase on a measly 1,000 shares. And no, it was not me. I don't trade stock when the trend is uber low liquidity, unless I absolutely have to.
