Perhaps the Invite to Kim was to weave a finished product/fabric. Not allowing any organism in country that can reproduce its self.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said Kim was in over his head. You go to a different country you better have someone that knows how to navigate the government. Better than blindly "stumbling" around.
Is there a reason Kim can not delegate responsibilities?
No one is a one man army. Think it's a pride thing. Got to get over that.
