#46342 RE: train #46341

Train,
in Frankfurt (Formnext) they usually eat hand cheese with music and apple wine - it is a little bit different to Schnitzel and beer but of ofcourse tasty...

BTW, I found that interesting article in a famous German newspaper:

http://www.zeit.de/2016/49/industrie-digitalisierung-deutsche-unternehmen-marktfuehrer-start-ups/komplettansicht

The state is trying to promote digital development, for example, by trying to better organize the exchange of information and experience between companies and science with the "Platform Industry 4.0". The Internet of Things, for example, or the so-called Industry 4.0, which is about networking machines, factories and whole supply chains digitally. It is no coincidence that the term industry invented 4.0 in Germany was.

Some local digital companies have even slipped out of the niche - dominating entire technology fields. If an industrial company wants to produce the prototype of a new component somewhere in the world, a 3-D printer from Germany is usually used. In the case of 3-D printers for metallic materials, German manufacturers would have a market share of up to 70 percent, according to mechanical engineer Bernhard Langefeld from Roland Berger. The large metal boxes are built by companies in Oberbayern, in Franconia or Lübeck. Their success is due not least to the basic research of a highly specialized network of universities and research institutes in the Greater Munich area, the German "Laser Cluster".

3-D printers look like simple tin boxes, from which, as if by magic hand, different forms come out. Their secret lies in the sophisticated laser technology, in the special software. 3-D printers from Germany are considered premium products. The companies EOS, Concept Laser and SLM are market leaders such as Mercedes, BMW and Audi in the car superclass, says Langefeld.

...I think 70% marketshare for metal printers is amazing and I believe MC understood that fact as he was able to collaborate with German co's like Trumpf, EOS and now Siemens...

I agree with you that we should see news after Formnext.

What I really strongly believe is that EOS will use SGLB software for critical applications in there machines sooner or later.
As everybody knows is the fact that EOS has there own QA system but at least some users had EOS printers or bought new systems even recently (like Siemens) and add SGLB IPQA software (e.g. Spartacus3d, Woodwards, Siemens, etc).

I also believe that GE will upgrade there CL and Arcam printers with SGLB software (to standardize the QA) and for Honeywell there is no any question what Don will recommend to use...
Even for Materialise recently released Inspector QA software will have the option soon for SGLB software for critical applications...

GLTA believers

BTW: we still have 10 trading days till Christmas eve...
