After hours is not run like day trading and there are few trades/offers to buy and sell. If you put in a sale at market you will get a sale at whatever is offered at that time. A lot of the time investors put in offers to buy at low prices and you can get caught selling much lower than what the stock closed at that day.

100 share trade means nothing.

How is it that a 100 shares sold after hours can bring it to the above level? Please explain?

My account was up and then next time I looked, it was really down.

Agreed. 100 share trade is nothing. Might have been purposeful to try and make the stock look weak.
