Sorry, but you are the one with the wrong comparison.

PLUG is nothing like Betamax. Betamax never held any significant amount of marketshare. Whereas PLUG dominates marketshare.

And as far as Enron? Well I guess Plug Power Acquired full control of HyPulsion, a hydrogen and fuel cell business in Europe for $11.47 million but that was certainly not scandalous.
I do wish they had handled the change in accounting methods a little better but definitely not a reason to send people to jail over.
