I'm a retired investment banker and I have bought many companies but I wouldn't have bought this company. It's seems the 31 "potential bidders" didn't think it was a good idea either

NO. An investor group / Lender loaned them the money to pull out of bankruptcy. Essentially the lender reviewed the financials and see's potential in the future of the company. Remember that Cosi filed a NT 10-Q on 11/11 to stall the quarterly reports from being released. I speculate something big is moving behind the scenes.
