I don't understand -

now how much cash did the FED use since 2009? only 1 trillion?
My comment: The Fed's balance sheet grew from $880B in 2008 to $4.5T (that's a $3.6Trillion increase, not $1Trillion).

this makes sense as the FED would be able to dump their shares for 300 percent higher on the market

My comment: The Fed bought US Treasuries at rock bottom yields and those yields are now rising so if the Fed were to sell their Treasuries, they would take a substantial loss, not to mention that selling their holdings would drive rates even higher (supply vs demand) creating an even larger loss.
