Don't forget Dr that you can build another bridge but if the public do not drive over it then you collect no toll. What I'm getting at is that the public "WANT" to use the internet and not have to log into a specific server to get what they want. A closed Intranet will give a specific company some of the functionality but not the access to the public that giving access over the internet will get them. In order to go over the internet they must pay our toll is how I read it.
