My guess would be that SGLB isn't a direct partner with NASA. They are a level down on the org chart ... a partner with NASA's partners. A question for MC on Monday.

Geoffery

Why isn't Sigma listed directly? Why is this new effort needed? Why isn't IPQA (tm) listed?

I'm simply going to ask if they're a part of this.

We can assume all day long but assumptions aren't moving the stock price in the right direction.

"Why is this new effort needed?"

This is not a new effort, this effort started in 2014 and is the on going development of industry standards.

"Develop in-process NDE ..." this statement is from the November 2014 document:

NASA/TM-2014-218560 - NDE of AM State-of-the-Discipline Report

Sigma was mentioned in a previous NASA NDE presentation. Coincidently i just posted it a few days ago (post 45760) as a reminder:

Dec 2014 NASA presentation 'Nondestructive Evaluation of Additive Manufacturing'. I know its almost 2 yrs old but its a good one to remember.

By conducting those inspection procedures while the component is being built, GE Aviation and Sigma labs will expedite production rates for GE's additive manufactured engine components like the LEAP fuel nozzle
