100% false. I used to handle investments professionally and retired back in the late 80's. There is no MM anywhere until a buyer or a seller places and order! It is traders who make the markets. These myths that are spread all over these boards get insane!

MMs don't just make markets for others - they need inventory and make money for themselves by working the spread buying and shorting/selling it.
