"Why they ever thought to
remake that movie is dumbfounding"
it is, and if i may - i little tidbit from my girlfriend who knows a thing or two about the cinema. upon learning they were remaking it, she turned to me and said - "you know, just because technology has advanced, doesn't mean they've got to remake every movie ever made. you can go see it if you want, but it'll be a cold day in hell before i do."
funny thing about the latter part of her "diatribe" was, she did go see it. we were in rome, it was christmas day, and everything was closed - except the vatican and the cinema de lux. i said, well, we could go see king kong. she said, okay. making sure to point out that it was very cold, (and there were flurries) but that we were far from hell. loved rome, and even got a couple laughs out of the movie. as it turns out, jack black is pretty funny in italian too. travel safe.....
