Looking through patents, it appears that just the applications were used as collateral. I noticed that patent 6,857,553 was assigned to the U.S. Department of Energy. This is not new as the assignment occurred in 2003. For some reason, I thought that was a Sigma Labs one.
Is the collateral based on just these patent Applicants? Does that mean the 'approved' patents are not part of the deal?
