IMO gold will have already made some big moves higher by the time capital controls are implemented, unless the deflationary crisis is what brings on the capital controls, which is possible I suppose.
I would agree that at some point later on inflation will be a confidence issue when people see that won't work and lose faith in fiat money, but that should be later, not in the beginning.
The rush to the physical PM's may be more dependent on what causes the deflationary crisis in the end.
