I think people are seeing the writing on the wall for the ICE.

Electric motors bring so much to the automotive industry with far fewer moving parts and choice of Battery or Fuel cell for power storage.

The designs using one motor per wheel thus avoiding any transmission are likely to win out IMHO just look at the racing world.

Saw the Nikola trucks will stop in 150 feet (less than half that of diesel trucks) because the engine can brake for you as well.
