Not according to Mary and Florida statutes........

There was always a recognition that there would be a salvage permit. The three items would trigger the salvage permit.

See item 7, that has been posted repeatedly.

and a "conversion" to a recovery permit is not guaranteed.

and what is stated in the news should not be assumed to be accurate.

From Mary's depo....

Q. What requirements are needed to be able to
4 get a full salvage permit?

5 MR. FUGETT: Objection to form.
6 Go ahead if you know.
7 THE WITNESS: Are you referring to a
8 recovery permit?

9 MR. KIDD: Yes.
10 THE WITNESS: Okay. The permittee would
11 have had to have received an exploration permit,
12 surveyed an area, identified potential elements of a
13 shipwreck, and then report on it. At that point
14 they would apply for a recovery permit, and we would
15 evaluate the information and make a determination
.

That's a stretch. I have gone back and read a lot of the material on this "three" item stuff. I believe some posters are reading something that is not there. There was always a recognition that there would be a salvage permit. The three items would trigger the salvage permit.

Exactly

Much ado about nothing....Again
