In 2014 the pops did not come until January to March following the election on November 4th in that year. The best is yet to come. When California goes "legal recreation" that will be a news maker. Everybody follows California's lead. Though Colorado, Washington, Alaska, and D.C. have them beat as a trendsetter this time.
