Do you believe this?

Therefore, one could surmise that since the Quran forbids Muslims to swear allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, technically, ALL Muslins should be refused immigration to OUR country.

How about Catholics? So when our politicians say - For God, Country, and Family they are different?

Americans have come a long way since 1952; now Americans even confer the Gold Star medal of honor on parents of a U.S. military Muslim soldier KIA.

JimLur, the article is faulty for a number of reasons.

One, Carter's actions were taken during the Iran hostage situation as a result of public pressure, and to be seen to be doing something to put pressure on the Iranian students to release
the hostages. Trump's call was simply political opportunism targeting irrational fear, as the first mention was made after the San Bernardino shooting of Dec. 2015, and the second
after the Orlando shooting June 2016. There was no comparable public pressure on Trump to make his call, but simply his penchant for preying on paranoiac fear in his base.

Two, Trumps comments suggested a wish for a Muslim database ..
.. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2015/nov/24/donald-trumps-comments-database-american-muslims/ .. Carter had no such wish for all Muslims.

Three, Carter, because the hostage takers were students, initially aimed his at Muslim students only, whereas
Trump's call was for a ban on all Muslims, and later action was "fairly traditional process of crisis management".
http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/article/2015/dec/17/why-trumps-muslim-ban-idea-isnt-really-same-jimmy-/

Four, Carter's actions were never a call for action against all Muslims in the world on the basis of religion.

Probably missed some. So the 'analogy' Trump, or more likely a campaign strategist, has concocted is pretty darn weak.
