Did you ever deal with methanol?
When they ran methanol in Indy cars when they parked the cars overnight they would put in gas because methanol was so corrosive.
Better batteries and solar will take over,,,

It could for cars, but thats faaaaar away...
I think by then most cars will run on electricity so it would be late.
