Attended a conference in San Diego a number of years back. He, Alan and Janet were all presenters with Bernanke (Fed governor then) sitting a couple of chairs away from me. Merv was simple speaking and made sense. Alan of course no one could understand. Janet backed up what ever Merv was saying and what she thought Alan was.
