I understand your point. However having a patent portfolio is extremely beneficial for defensive reasons as well. Those companies that I mentioned being sued by VoIP pal are a perfect example.. whatever the case may be patents have value and I have said it depends on many factors. Some of those factors are subjective some are not. What is hot right now and what is not. . sometimes a patent will become valuable after a ruling or a overturn of a previous ruling.. having a patent portfolio and being a major company is very important and people have said for years hipcricket would do very well inside a much larger company. I am hoping that large West Coast company rears its head very soon and gobbles us up. As Excelsior has said, sometimes there are laggards in market adoption..
