Saw that CMT news. The trend in the industry is towards lighter & lighter materials. Guess a positive for CMT. But when there's no demand, I don't think it really matters how light your products are.
CMT made a nice technological breakthrough to significantly reduce the weight of parts that should benefit sales in the long term, but the cyclical downturn in truck sales will surely trump that over the next several quarters. jmho.
CMT : Michael, interesting that Starboard which is commonly used in marine applications actually has a lower density that CMT's new ultra low density product. CMT's product has a density of .98, water is 1.0, and Starboard is .95
I have no idea how Starboard compares with CMT's new product in other parameters though. Also I didn't see any comments about the comparative cost of their new product. Joined you guys with the CMT short.
