Had dinner tonight with a group of people that included a couple from Holland. The guy's wife only speaks about 30 words in English. When they were outside the restaurant having their cigarettes, and the rest of us kind of humored them on that subject, a guy came out of the restaurant with at trump t-shirt on, and the woman went off on him bigtime. She started chanting clinton, clinton (can't duplicate her accent phonetically) and we thought were were going to end up getting our knuckles dirty, but the guy lowered his head and double-timed it to his car. They said the dutch people detest trump bigtime, I am not sure exactly why they do, there are so many reasons to choose from... and they weren't even aware of today's festivities in trumpland.
So from a anecdotal perspective, I think your headline is accurate down at the common citizen level.
