If you look at the restricted share numbers I think you'll find that the number of shares under held by directors has dropped by approx 8 to 10 million. This suggests that this is the number of shares he owns ( unless they have found others to lend them cash), which if I remember correctly is substantailly less than what he originally had.
How they are restricted is anyones guess. They could be based on the original terms which allowed for staggered selling in clips of 5%, or could have been re negoitiated, which means they could be sold all at once if the transfer was done through a broker or 1 year from when the transaction is done.
Whatever the terms, if someone has left a company they are likely to want to liquidate at least some of the asset at the earliest opportunity.
