The patent covers using the well know stretchable traces for the X and Y axis, but adds another in the Z-axis.
First, I would like to know exactly how such a thing would be produced? To create the Z-axis stretchable pattern would require some unique multi-layer processes that I do not believe exists. Not to say it couldn't be done, but it would require significant R&D and would likely be a very expensive production process! Patenting it is one thing... making it is another!
Second, why? What benefit is it? The widely known 2-D stretchable circuit flexes in the Z-axis already!
I actually would like to hear the company's answers to my questions. They are legitimate...
